How subscriber pricing works

Boostmail prices on active subscribers, not on the number of emails you send, and you can start completely free for up to 1,000 active subscribers. On paid plans, emails are unlimited, so your bill is driven by the size of your engaged audience rather than how often you mail it. That means you can send to your list as often as it makes sense without watching a per-email meter.
What “active subscriber” means
Your tier is based on active subscribers: contacts who are opted in and eligible to receive marketing. People who have unsubscribed or been suppressed, for example, addresses that hard-bounced, are not counted as active. This matters in practice: keeping your list clean of disengaged and invalid contacts not only improves deliverability, it can also keep you on a smaller, cheaper tier.
The plans
- Free, $0, up to 1,000 active subscribers, 10,000 emails per month, and 20,000 AI words per month. No credit card required.
- Growth, for stores that have outgrown the free tier. Pricing scales by subscriber tier, and emails are unlimited.
- Professional, adds unlimited users and custom HTML for teams that want full control over email markup.
- Enterprise Plus, adds a dedicated sending IP for the highest-volume senders.

How tiers scale
As your active-subscriber count grows, you move up to the tier that covers it. Because sends are unlimited on paid plans, adding a campaign or an automation never increases your cost, only growing (or shrinking) your active list does. If a large portion of your list has gone cold, sunsetting those contacts can both lift engagement and reduce your subscriber count.

Frequently asked questions
- What counts as an active subscriber?
- An active subscriber is a contact who is opted in and able to receive your marketing. Unsubscribed and suppressed (for example, hard-bounced) contacts are not counted as active. Your plan tier is based on this active count, not your total contact records.
- Am I charged per email I send?
- No. Paid plans include unlimited emails, so your cost doesn't rise with send volume, it's driven by how many active subscribers you have. The Free plan includes 10,000 emails per month.
- What's included in the Free plan?
- Free supports up to 1,000 active subscribers, 10,000 emails per month, and 20,000 AI words per month, with no credit card required. It's a genuine free tier for getting started and running a small list.
- What happens when my list grows past my tier?
- You move to the subscriber tier that fits your active count. Because emails are unlimited on paid plans, the only thing that changes your price is your subscriber count, so keeping your list clean of disengaged contacts can keep your cost down.
- How is this different from competitors?
- Many platforms charge on subscribers and meter emails or charge for SMS and add-ons. Boostmail keeps emails unlimited on paid plans and prices on active subscribers. To compare real numbers for your list size, use the Klaviyo vs Boostmail cost tool.
